Cyberport, as Hong Kong’s digital technology flagship and incubator for entrepreneurship,

strives to inject new impetus into digital economy and smart city development through innovation and technology, and to connect enterprises to Mainland China and overseas market.

The Hong Kong SAR Government prioritises innovation and technology (I&T) development as a key driver for economic growth and improved quality of life. As part of this commitment, the HKSAR Government has identified the enhancement of technological infrastructure as a primary focus. The 2019-20 Budget emphasised the establishment of Cyberport 5, aiming to attract high-quality technology firms and start-ups, while providing pathways for young individuals to pursue careers in the I&T sector.

Cyberport serves as the cornerstone of Hong Kong’s information and communications technology (ICT) industry, dedicated to fostering a robust I&T ecosystem. Over the years, Cyberport has supported the growth of over 2,100 companies through financial aid, professional guidance, and various programs. This vibrant community not only nurtures start-ups but also inspires youth to engage in I&T careers, generating substantial business opportunities across the ecosystem.

To further strengthen its position as an I&T hub, Cyberport recognises the need for enhanced facilities. The existing conference space is insufficient for larger-scale events, highlighting the necessity for a multi-function hall. Additionally, establishing a data services platform will provide essential cloud storage and server facilities tailored to the needs of start-ups, particularly those in sectors like Fintech. These initiatives aim to bolster Cyberport’s appeal to both local and multinational companies, reinforcing its role in Hong Kong’s competitive I&T landscape.
